My name is Cameron, and I'm an aspiring web designer and developer with a passion for creating clean, user-focused digital experiences. I’m constantly learning new languages and techniques to improve my craft and grow within the field.
From an early age, I’ve had a strong interest in technology, initially sparked through gaming and other digital systems that fascinated me. I was always curious about how these systems were built and what goes into the coding behind them, which led me to explore the field further.
This interest developed into a decision to study IT at college, where I completed a BTEC qualification. I have since progressed to studying a BSc (Hons) in Computing (Top-Up), where I am continuing to build my knowledge and practical skills in development.
Through my studies and continued learning, I have developed a solid foundation in coding and problem-solving. I am motivated to keep improving my abilities and aim to grow into the best version of myself within the field of web design and development.
My approach to work is centred around continuous learning and genuine understanding. I focus on fully grasping the technologies I use so I can apply them effectively across different projects. I take pride in producing high-quality work, always aiming to meet the best standard I’m capable of rather than rushing to complete tasks. I also value professionalism, presenting myself as approachable and well-mannered, and I thrive in team environments where I can contribute with a strong work ethic.
I have strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, using them to create responsive and user-focused web experiences. I primarily use Visual Studio Code, but I’m confident in quickly adapting to new tools and workflows when required.
Alongside my technical skills, I bring strong teamwork and communication abilities, supported by experience in report writing and Harvard referencing. I have a good understanding of user interface design and web design principles, as well as broader knowledge in information technology. I’m highly organised, with strong time management skills and a willingness to continuously learn and develop. I also have experience with social media and social media marketing, as well as working with booking systems and handling payments in customer-focused environments.
My past experience includes working for two taxi companies as a telephonist, where I was responsible for handling customer enquiries, coordinating bookings, and ensuring efficient communication between drivers and customers in a fast-paced environment. This role required strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask effectively, and excellent communication skills to manage high volumes of calls and requests.
In one of these positions, I also took on additional responsibility for managing the dispatch board and processing driver payments. This strengthened my organisational skills, ability to prioritise tasks, and confidence in handling financial transactions accurately and efficiently.
Prior to this, I worked as a kitchen porter and chef, where I developed a strong work ethic and the ability to perform under pressure in a demanding environment. This role enhanced my teamwork, time management, and adaptability, as well as my ability to maintain high standards while working in a fast-paced setting.
My education in IT began at high school, where I chose it as an option subject and achieved a Level 6. This experience sparked my interest in the field and motivated me to continue developing my skills.
I then progressed to college, where I completed a BTEC Level 3 in IT, achieving a Merit. Building on this, I continued my studies with a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Computing, where I also achieved a Merit, followed by a Higher National Diploma (HND), again achieving a Merit.
I am currently studying a BSc (Hons) in Computing for England (Top-Up Degree), where I am continuing to expand my knowledge and practical skills in the field.
My goal is to continuously develop my skills and grow within the field of web design and development. I aim to achieve this by refining the skills I have already learned, expanding my knowledge through new technologies and techniques, and gaining practical experience within the industry.
In the short term, my primary focus is to successfully complete my degree and achieve a result that reflects the effort and standard I have set for myself. Alongside this, I am keen to begin working with small businesses, supporting them in developing adaptable and effective websites that help them grow and improve their online presence.
Looking ahead, I aspire to build a long-term career in the web development and design industry, where I can continue to develop professionally, gain valuable experience, and contribute meaningfully to the projects and teams I am part of.
